How to Kill Your Neighbor’s Dog (2000)

IMDB rating: 7.10

Plot: Shy, chain-smoking, insomniac Peter McGowan is an L.A. playwright with a string of hits that preceded his current ten years of failed productions. His mother-in-law is sinking into senility, a stranger is meandering the neighborhood claiming to be him, neighbors have a new dog that barks all night; his wife wants to have a child, and he does not: he’s become impotent. He’s working on a new play when a single mom moves in next door with her 8-year-old daughter. His wife immediately invites the girl into the McGowan household. Will this child stir Peter’s paternal feelings? Will she also help him get his dialogue right? And what of his doppelganger and the neighbor’s dog?

Missing dog, Advice ?
Well i have 2 pitbulls , one female who is 2 years old , and a male that is 8 months . I live out in the country and one day i let them out to go to the bathroom and they dissapeared off into the woods even with the underground fence collar on. They have done this once before , well they both were gone for almost a week when my female came home but not my male . It is now almost 2 weeks and my male is still missing . My neighbors are keepin a look out for him . I’ m scared because there are coyotes and if he is by himself and not running around with another neighborhood dog he could get killed . But one of my neighbors who didn’t know i was missing a dog seen one that the thought was mine after i showed them the picture but thought nothing about it at the time and didnt pick him up , that was 4 days ago . So i have hope that he is just out there chasing deer or another dog is in heat or something . i have taken my female on walks with me through the woods to try and find him but no luck . I guess i just need advice on what to do from someone who has been through this situation . Thank you

You could talk to animal control about the issue and put up fliers and posters around your community with a cash reward and a phone number.

The dog could be anywhere and this is especially bad because the dog is an American Pit Bull Terrier, he could easily be mistaken as a threat by an ignorant person and shot. The dog is young so its highly likely that someone took him.

This is exactly why I say the best thing to keep a dog confined is a metal or wooden fence, not some electrical invisible fence. Dogs are clever and will find ways around issues.

You should take something that smells like him to a bloodhound and he could find him!So sorry about what happened!

If you live in a rural area where people have livestock there is a good chance someone has shot him, which is perfectly legal to do if he has gone onto someones property.

There is also a great chance he has been hit by a car.

Since he has ID on his collar and is microchipped then if the pound gets him they will call you.

Hoepfully you have now learned your lesson the hard way that those underground fences do not work with a breed like this with a strong prey drive and high pain tolerance.

I seriously doubt you will see the other dog again.

I hope you find your dog, but it’s likely he might not come home. :(
As others have answered, call the animal control, ask around more, and put up fliers and such.
If he’s still alive - which is very possible - he may or may not come on his own. I’m very sorry!

I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR YOU BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT PAIN YOU’RE GOING THROUGH CAUSE I HAD A PURE BREED CHIHUAHUA 1 YEARS OLD WENT OUT TO PEE AND WENT BACK IN AND TURNED BACK LOOKED AND WAS GONE SINCE I LIVE IN THE COUNTY WHERE THE BIG HOUSES ARE THERE ARE MANY COYOTES AND DEERS RATTLE SNAKE BOBCAT MOUNTAIN LIONS I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT FOR 6 HRS AND A SECURITY SAID YOU PUT UP LOST DOG SIGNS YOU PAY 200$ OR 400$ AND HES BEEN MISSING FOR 1 YEAR NOW HES GONE FOREVER =< :< YOU CAN PUT UP LOST DOG SIGNS OR

Without proper identification, you might never find your pet if he becomes lost. If your pet does become lost, don’t delay. Take the following steps to help bring your companion animal home to safety.

Act fast! Don’t waste days hoping your pet will come home. The sooner you begin your search, the better the odds of finding him.

Search your neighborhood or area where your pet was lost and let people know she’s missing. You may want to offer a reward. Call your pet’s name and check any places she could have become trapped, such as in garages or under vehicles. A lost pet often will hide during the day, so be sure to go out again at night with a flashlight and call for her. Sometimes a can of food can lure a hungry and scared pet to you.

Check with your local shelters every day. Don’t just call — visit the shelter to search for your pet. Many animals are difficult to describe over the phone, and only you really know what your pet looks like.

Call all animal control agencies in your town and surrounding areas. Animal control officers work through the police department and pick up stray animals. Call them or check their shelters at least every two days.

Make "lost pet" signs using your pet’s photo. Put them up in your neighborhood and in post offices, libraries, pet supply stores, veterinary offices and grocery stores.

Inform your veterinarian and groomer that your pet is lost in case they receive a call.

Place ads in local newspapers and offer a reward in case someone found your untagged pet and was thinking of keeping him.

Watch the found ads. Respond to any that might be close to your pet’s description. A week of wandering the streets can make white pets look drab gray, and the ad’s description might not exactly fit.

Call your local radio stations. Some radio stations will broadcast lost pet information for free. Give them very detailed information on where your pet was lost, her description and how to contact you.

These guys call me baby smiley… (pic) … they are teasing me. please help.?
The guy I like has these two friends who always call me Baby Smiley. I asked them why and at first they said that it was a secret, for me not to know.
Then they said it was because I’m a baby (I’m a freshman and they’re sophomores) and I smile a lot… which I d i d until now.
I looked up "baby smiley" on Google and came up a bunch of baby stuff and 2 pictures of a fat chola.
So, I went ion Google Images and typed in "baby smiley chola" and this is one of the things that came up… http://i.ytimg.com/vi/rGOOlcdpfLg/0.jpg I’m fat and Mexican, so I know that’s what they meant.
I want to confront them, tell them they’re not as clever as they think.
What should I do??? Please help.

Aww. Confront them, definitely. They shouldn’t talk like that… But maybe you might be reading into it too far? I don’t know.

Good luck, don’t take it to heart :) Katie | Nov 20, 2009
